Course Syllabus
1. "Permission to heal" - What are the obligations, rights and responsibilities of the physician
2. Organ Transplants (1) - What organs is one allowed to donate while alive? is one obligated to donate organs? what are the ethical issues involving organ donations from a living donor?
3. Organ transplants (2) - What organs are we allowed to take from the dead? do you need permission? is one allowed to donate his body to science?
4. Beginning of life - Artificial insemination, IVF, surrogate mother, what is Judaism have to say on all these?
5. Abortion - Does Judaism believe in freedom of choice? Isn’t Judaism pro life? what does the Torah say regarding this sensitive issue?
6. End of life - What's Judaism's view on "physician assisted suicide"? Must we prolong the death of an ill patient?
